    Smart home Management System with Face Recognition Based on ArcFace Model in Deep Convolutional Neural Network

    In recent years, artificial intelligence has proved its potential in many fields, especially in computer vision. Facial recognition is one of the most essential tasks in the field of computer vision with various prospective applications from academic research to intelligence service. In this paper, we propose an efficient deep learning approach to facial recognition. Our approach utilizes the architecture of ArcFace model based on the backbone MobileNet V2, in deep convolutional neural network (DCNN). Assistive techniques to increase highly distinguishing features in facial recognition. With the supports of the facial authentication combines with hand gestures recognition, users will be able to monitor and control his home through his mobile phone/tablet/PC. Moreover, they communicate with data and connect to smart devices easily through IoT technology. The overall proposed model is 97% of accuracy and a processing speed of 25 FPS. The interface of the smart home demonstrates the successful functions of real-time operations

    An Ultra Fast Semantic Segmentation Model for AMR’s Path Planning

    Computer vision plays a significant role in mobile robot navigation due to the abundance of information extracted from digital images. On the basis of the captured images, mobile robots determine their location and proceed to the desired destination. Obstacle avoidance still requires a complex sensor system with a high computational efficiency requirement due to the complexity of the environment. This research provides a real-time solution to the issue of extracting corridor scenes from a single image. Using an ultra-fast semantic segmentation model to reduce the number of training parameters and the cost of computation. In addition, the mean Intersection over Union (mIoU) is 89%, and the high accuracy is 95%. To demonstrate the viability of the prosed method, the simulation results are contrasted to those of contemporary techniques. Finally, the authors employ the segmented image to construct the frontal view of the mobile robot in order to determine the available free areas for mobile robot path planning tasks

    A Secured, Multilevel Face Recognition based on Head Pose Estimation, MTCNN and FaceNet

    Artificial Intelligence and IoT have always attracted a lot of attention from scholars and researchers because of their high applicability, which make them a typical technology of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The hallmark of AI is its self-learning ability, which enables computers to predict and analyze complex data such as bio data (fingerprints, irises, and faces), voice recognition, text processing. Among those application, the face recognition is under intense research due to the demand in users’ identification. This paper proposes a new, secured, two-step solution for an identification system that uses MTCNN and FaceNet networks enhanced with head pose estimation of the users. The model's accuracy ranges from 92% to 95%, which make it competitive with recent research to demonstrate the system's usability

    Observer synthesis for the T-S fuzzy system with uncertainty and output disturbance

    [[abstract]]The paper proposes a novel fuzzy observer synthesis for the Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy system with uncertainty and output disturbance. First, an augmented fuzzy model is built by integrating the system state and the output disturbance into a new variable. Then, based on Lyapunov theory and LMIs tools, two main theorems are derived for particular and general cases of fuzzy systems, respectively. In each main theorem, three key conditions are proposed, under which the fuzzy observer is synthesized to estimate the system state and the output disturbance simultaneously. According to the main theorems, a methodical procedure for the fuzzy observer synthesis is also provided.     Impact of Accounting Information on Financial Statements to the Stock Price of the Energy Enterprises Listed on Vietnam's Stock Market

    This paper studies the impact of accounting information on financial statements to the stock price of energy enterprises listed on Vietnam's stock market. By using the OLS regression model and quantile regression model (QR), the author studies the influence of factors such as return on assets (Roa), capital structure (LV), enterprise size (Size), current ratio (CR), and accounts receivable turnover (Turnover) to stock prices. Data from this study were collected from 44 energy enterprises during 2006-2016. The results show that return on assets (Roa), enterprise size (Size), current ratio (CR), and accounts receivable turnover (Turnover) are positively correlated with the stock price, with an explanation level of 48.47%. Capital structure (LV) does not affect stock prices. Based on the research results, the authors propose some recommendations for investors and enterprises and suggest other research directions as well as adding new factors to the stock price.     Poverty of the Ethnic Minorities in Vietnam: Situation and Challenges from the Poorest Communes

    This study examines the poverty of the ethnic minorities in the poorest areas in Vietnam. We find that the ethnic minority now constitute more than a half of the poor population, though they account for around 14.5 percent of the population,. The share of the poor ethnic minorities in the total poor has steadily increased from 18 percent in the early 1990s up to 56 percent recently. Our decomposition analysis shows that differences in characteristics could explain as much as one third of the income gap between the majority and all other ethnic minorities groups. Importantly, it implies that poverty of the ethnic minorities cannot be solved simply by investment in infrastructures and public services. This suggests an awaking alarm for the focus on provision of basic infrastructure and public services emphasized in most of the current policies and programmes for ethnic minorities

    Biocompatible chitosan-functionalized upconverting nanocomposites

    Simultaneous integration of photon emission and biocompatibility into nanoparticles is an interesting strategy to develop applications of advanced optical materials. In this work, we present the synthesis of biocompatible optical nanocomposites from the combination of near-infrared luminescent lanthanide nanoparticles and water-soluble chitosan. NaYF4:Yb,Er upconverting nanocrystal guests and water-soluble chitosan hosts are prepared and integrated together into biofunctional optical composites. The control of aqueous dissolution, gelation, assembly, and drying of NaYF4:Yb,Er nanocolloids and chitosan liquids allowed us to design novel optical structures of spongelike aerogels and beadlike microspheres. Well-defined shape and near-infrared response lead upconverting nanocrystals to serve as photon converters to couple with plasmonic gold (Au) nanoparticles. Biocompatible chitosan-stabilized Au/NaYF4:Yb,Er nanocomposites are prepared to show their potential use in biomedicine as we find them exhibiting a half-maximal effective concentration (EC50) of 0.58 mg mL–1 for chitosan-stabilized Au/NaYF4:Yb,Er nanorods versus 0.24 mg mL–1 for chitosan-stabilized NaYF4:Yb,Er after 24 h. As a result of their low cytotoxicity and upconverting response, these novel materials hold promise to be interesting for biomedicine, analytical sensing, and other applications

    Multiple Recurrent Acute Ischemic Strokes Treated by Thrombectomy in a Patient with Acute Pulmonary Embolism

    BACKGROUND: Thrombectomy is recommended to treat for an acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patient with anterior large vessel occlusion. However, there were neither detailed guidelines nor systematic reviews of acute ischemic stroke patients having multiple times or re-occluded arteries. CASE REPORT: In our case report, we struggled a multiple (4-times) AIS patient underwent by one intravenous r-tpA and 3 remaining of endovascular treatment of thrombectomy. Especially, the finding of both pulmonary embolism and cerebral arteries occlusion in this patient made us difficult to decide the appropriate treatment plan. The patient was considered having multiple cardiac thrombi pumping out to the brain and pulmonary vessels even in treatment with NOAC (New Oral Anticoagulant). Our priority, normally, was to recanalize the brain vessels compared to the pulmonary arteries. CONCLUSION: In conclusion, based on this noticed case study, we want to share our experiences on the diagnosis of ischemic stroke, the strategy in treatment and prevention with anticoagulant therapy

    Standardised patient study to assess tuberculosis case detection within the private pharmacy sector in Vietnam.

    BACKGROUND: Of the estimated 10 million people affected by (TB) each year, one-third are never diagnosed. Delayed case detection within the private healthcare sector has been identified as a particular problem in some settings, leading to considerable morbidity, mortality and community transmission. Using unannounced standardised patient (SP) visits to the pharmacies, we aimed to evaluate the performance of private pharmacies in the detection and treatment of TB. METHODS: A cross-sectional study was undertaken at randomly selected private pharmacies within 40 districts of Vietnam. Trained actors implemented two standardised clinical scenarios of presumptive TB and presumptive multidrug-resistant TB (MDR-TB). Outcomes were the proportion of SPs referred for medical assessment and the proportion inappropriately receiving broad-spectrum antibiotics. Logistic regression evaluated predictors of SPs' referral. RESULTS: In total, 638 SP encounters were conducted, of which only 155 (24.3%) were referred for medical assessment; 511 (80·1%) were inappropriately offered antibiotics. A higher proportion of SPs were referred without having been given antibiotics if they had presumptive MDR-TB (68/320, 21.3%) versus presumptive TB (17/318, 5.3%; adjusted OR=4.8, 95% CI 2.9 to 7.8). Pharmacies offered antibiotics without a prescription to 89.9% of SPs with presumptive TB and 70.3% with presumptive MDR-TB, with no clear follow-up plan. CONCLUSIONS: Few SPs with presumptive TB were appropriately referred for medical assessment by private pharmacies. Interventions to improve appropriate TB referral within the private pharmacy sector are urgently required to reduce the number of undiagnosed TB cases in Vietnam and similar high-prevalence settings
